A quiet stone with a hidden fire

In ordinary light, Hidden Flame looks understated: polished round beads patterned in gray, charcoal, cream and earthy brown. Under a suitable UV or black light, parts of the stone fluoresce orange, revealing irregular flashes that resemble embers moving through rock.

The effect comes from fluorescent sodalite within the natural stone—not from a battery, paint or a glow-in-the-dark coating. The orange color is visible while the material is exposed to the appropriate UV light and may fade immediately when that light is removed.

No two flames look the same

Each bead has its own mineral pattern. Some may reveal broad orange areas under UV; others may show smaller flecks, veins or a softer reaction. In ordinary light, the mix of pale and dark areas also varies from bracelet to bracelet.

This natural variation is part of the design, but it is not a reason to accept cracks, loose drilling, broken beads or faulty stringing. Every finished bracelet should still pass visual and construction checks before shipping.

Made for the moment the lights change

Wear Hidden Flame as a neutral gray-black bracelet during the day, then bring out its orange fluorescence under UV lighting at a Halloween party, concert, mineral display or black-light setting. Its charm-free design keeps the piece wearable beyond October.

The approximately 8 mm beads create a clean, easy-to-layer profile. Pair it with black obsidian for a darker stack, or let the stone’s own patterns stand alone.

What you need to see the effect

A suitable UV or black light is required. Fluorescence can look different depending on the lamp’s wavelength and power, the distance from the bracelet, surrounding light, camera settings and the amount of fluorescent material in each bead.

For the clearest comparison, view the bracelet in a dim environment and shine the UV light directly across the beads. Never shine UV light into anyone’s eyes, and follow the safety instructions supplied with your lamp.

Please note

Natural stone varies in color, pattern, inclusions and fluorescent response. Your bracelet will not be identical to the photographs, and not every bead will display the same amount or shape of orange fluorescence. Warm studio lighting, UV photography and screen settings may also make the effect appear brighter or more saturated than it does in person.

FAQ

What makes the stone appear orange under UV light?

Fluorescent sodalite within the stone responds to ultraviolet light and emits visible orange light. The size and intensity of the fluorescent areas vary naturally.

Will every bead glow equally?

No. The fluorescent material is distributed irregularly, so one bead may show a broad orange patch while another reveals smaller flecks or a softer response.

Why does the bracelet look different in ordinary light?

UV photography reveals fluorescence that may be subtle or absent under ordinary light. In daylight, the beads are mainly gray, charcoal, cream and earthy brown with natural mottling.

What size are the beads?

The polished round beads are approximately 8 mm / 0.31 in. Natural material and polishing can produce small variations.

Is the bracelet adjustable?

It uses an elastic slip-on construction rather than an adjustable clasp. Check the verified wrist-fit range before ordering.

Is it only for Halloween?

No. The orange UV reaction suits Halloween and black-light events, while its neutral daylight appearance works as a simple everyday stone bracelet.
